Carmela Antonio - Bad Poetry
Thursday, March 26, 2015
Carmela Antonio is a Canadian singer/songwriter based out of Toronto, Canada. She grew up surrounded by an eclectic array of artistic and musical influences. As a child, the music varied from The Beatles, The Jacksons, Nat King Cole, Radiohead, TLC and Lauryn Hill. Carmela credits this diverse early exposure to her grandfather, who would often play legends like Nat King Cole tirelessly.

Little Noise Records is now releasing her second single, Bad Poetry, which boasts electronic musings, paired perfectly with Carmela’s ethereal vocal performance. Bad Poetry is available worldwide in all major online music stores as of February 2015.

Bad Poetry was written late one night in the Little Noise Studio by Carmela Antonio and LNR co-founder Mike Schlosser. After a very inspired performance at the Rivoli (where Carmela opened for LNR artist Kendal Thompson), Carmela and Mike decided to retreat to the studio and laid out the basis of the song very quickly. Inspired by hiphop and indie electronic and euro dance music, Mike's production leaves space for Carmela's angelic vocals to float over heavy drums and ambient synths. Bad Poetry is Carmela Antonio's second release on Little Noise Records and the first co-written with Mike Schlosser.

Carmela recently hit number 1 on Jamsterdam Radio with "Bad Poetry". Take a listen to the track below and a look at the making of the track with Carmela. Carmela can be heard in the Jamsterdam Top 10 daily at 10am and midnight on Jamsterdam Radio.
